FutureB
Larceny in slot 72 lands the Falcons a B, Isaac and all. You could see the war room lean forward. Adisa Isaac at slot 72 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The Jackson pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with running back, tight end and other spots still on the board. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
In the 10th overall pick they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick43
Rnd2
Jackson Powers-Johnson
Jackson Powers-Johnson slid further than he should have, and the 43rd pick is lovely value for the offensive lineman. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick72
Rnd3
Adisa Isaac
Somehow Adisa Isaac was still sitting there in Round 3, Pick 8, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick74
Rnd3
Javon Bullard
Value with a capital V on Javon Bullard in pick 74, a genuine coup. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick79
Rnd3
Max Melton
Max Melton at No. 79 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick109
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
A want over a need in pick No. 109: Khyree Jackson adds a cornerback while running back, tight end and other spots keeps waiting.
Pick143
Rnd5
Roger Rosengarten
They let Roger Rosengarten come to them and pounced at slot 143. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick185
Rnd6
Tanor Bortolini
Tanor Bortolini in the Round 6 slot is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick187
Rnd6
Fabien Lovett
Fair-plus on Fabien Lovett, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick197
Rnd6
Joe Milton III
A straight-up fair deal on Joe Milton III at pick 197, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
