Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall

FutureB+
The Falcons answered their biggest question with Daniels. Grade: B+. They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Falcons' quarterback, full stop. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.
Hart at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The Hart pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with running back, edge rusher and other spots still on the board. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In pick 9 they get a long-term answer under center. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick48
Rnd2
Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
A quiet steal in pick No. 48: Ennis Rakestraw Jr. for less than the market said. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick78
Rnd3
Javon Bullard
Circle this one: Javon Bullard at the Round 3 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick96
Rnd3
Dominick Puni
A reasonable price with a little left over, Dominick Puni in slot 96. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick110
Rnd4
Brenden Rice
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Brenden Rice at the 110th overall pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick115
Rnd4
McKinnley Jackson
The board had cheaper options than McKinnley Jackson at No. 115, and it noticed. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick117
Rnd4
Matt Goncalves
A tidy little value on Matt Goncalves in Round 4, Pick 17, a step better than break-even. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick119
Rnd4
Cam Hart
A surprising call. With running back, edge rusher and other spots still to address, they spent the 119th pick on Cam Hart, a cornerback they were not short of.
Pick142
Rnd5
Jacob Cowing
Jacob Cowing in slot 142 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick195
Rnd6
Hunter Nourzad
A clean, defensible pick in pick 195 with a little surplus value in Hunter Nourzad. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick199
Rnd6
Jared Wiley
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jared Wiley. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
