Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB+ FutureB
Daniels is the Patriots' new face under center. Grade: B.

Start where it matters. The Patriots took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

The Okie-Anoma reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. However the rest shakes out, Fisher at that price is a win they earned. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In the 4th overall pick they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Xavier Worthy
A big swing on Xavier Worthy at the 34th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick35 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
Jordan Morgan at pick No. 35 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
Pick68 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
No edge and no loss on Sedrick Van Pran in slot 68; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick103 Rnd4 Andru Phillips
No drama and no debate, Andru Phillips went about where he belonged in Round 4, Pick 3. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick137 Rnd5 Blake Fisher
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the Round 5 slot is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick138 Rnd5 Justin Eboigbe
They liked Justin Eboigbe enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 138. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick180 Rnd6 Daijun Edwards
A reach on Daijun Edwards in No. 180; the board had better options right there. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick193 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
A premium they did not need to pay, Joe Milton III a notch or two before his time. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick231 Rnd7 Eyabi Okie-Anoma
This one needs a full-page explanation: Eyabi Okie-Anoma in pick 231, miles early. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
