Somebody in the 138th overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The 49ers sat still while De'Zhaun Stribling, the No. 111 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.
