FaceTheFalcons DRAFTING FOR THEFalcons

Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall
B

FutureB-
Daniels is the plan now, and the Falcons grade out a B. Start where it matters. The Falcons took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Reaching for Rogers left real value on the table behind him.
The Rosengarten steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In slot 8 they get their quarterback of the future. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick43
Rnd2
Kris Jenkins
Kris Jenkins at the 43rd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick74
Rnd3
Johnny Wilson
Johnny Wilson in the 74th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick109
Rnd4
Jaden Hicks
No edge and no loss on Jaden Hicks in No. 109; it is a wash and a sensible one. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick145
Rnd5
Justin Rogers
Justin Rogers in pick No. 145 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick189
Rnd6
Roger Rosengarten
Value with a capital V on Roger Rosengarten in pick 189, a genuine coup. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick201
Rnd6
Austin Stogner
Austin Stogner in Round 6, Pick 26 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick244
Rnd7
Myles Cole
A reach for Myles Cole in the Round 7 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
