You can hear the double-takes from here. The Broncos took Clay Webb at pick No. 210, roughly 35 spots before his name belonged. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

They banked enough surplus on Reed to cover a lot of smaller sins. They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
