There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Bengals started one anyway for Hayden Conner, 56 picks ahead of schedule. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.
