Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall
B
ValueB-
NeedB-
TradesB+
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Falcons a B. It is the swing that defines the weekend: Oluwafemi Oladejo in the Round 4 slot, a good 124 spots before the room expected him. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
On value alone, Starks makes the weekend a net positive. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Jahdae Barron
In No. 20 they get a press-man option on the boundary at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick46
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
The board fumbled Malaki Starks all the way to pick 46, and they scooped it up. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick58
Rnd2
Jonah Savaiinaea
Jonah Savaiinaea at the 58th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick89
Rnd3
David Bailey
David Bailey at the Round 3 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick117
Rnd4
Oluwafemi Oladejo
Oluwafemi Oladejo at pick No. 117 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick244
Rnd7
Barryn Sorrell
Value said wait; Barryn Sorrell in Round 7, Pick 26 says they were not listening. A need, and now a little less of one.
