FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Ravens: B. Some picks age like wine; Taulia Tagovailoa at pick 250 will need to, sitting 38 spots clear of his grade. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Pearl at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick42
Rnd2
Jordan Morgan
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jordan Morgan in Round 2, Pick 10. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick62
Rnd2
Ja'Lynn Polk
A reach on Ja'Lynn Polk in slot 62; the board had better options right there. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick67
Rnd3
Marshawn Kneeland
Marshawn Kneeland at the 67th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick86
Rnd3
Christian Mahogany
Christian Mahogany in pick 86 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick93
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson in No. 93 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick108
Rnd4
Audric Estime
They did well to land Audric Estime in pick No. 108, just ahead of his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick113
Rnd4
James Williams
They paid up for James Williams at slot 113 when waiting would have done the job. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick130
Rnd4
Johnny Wilson
Johnny Wilson at the Round 4 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It fills a real need, too.
Pick139
Rnd5
Kalen King
By-the-book stuff, Kalen King at No. 139 squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick165
Rnd5
Tykee Smith
Good price on Tykee Smith in Round 5, Pick 29, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick177
Rnd6
Jaylen Harrell
Jaylen Harrell at pick 177 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick218
Rnd6
Julian Pearl
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Julian Pearl in the 218th pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick228
Rnd7
Marcellas Dial
They paid a round early for Marcellas Dial in the 228th overall pick, more than the board wanted. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick250
Rnd7
Taulia Tagovailoa
A real head-scratcher, Taulia Tagovailoa in pick No. 250 is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
