Draft Grade — Titans
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesA FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Titans: B.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Titans took Malachi Lawrence a full 25 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Tate pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In the 12th pick they get a green-dot type in the middle. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick20 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
In No. 20 they get a true top target at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick35 Rnd2 Elijah Sarratt
Elijah Sarratt in Round 2, Pick 3 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick66 Rnd3 Keionte Scott
By-the-book stuff, Keionte Scott at the 66th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick101 Rnd4 Jacob Rodriguez
They did well to land Jacob Rodriguez in slot 101, just ahead of his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick112 Rnd4 Malachi Lawrence
Malachi Lawrence at pick No. 112 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick140 Rnd5 Kage Casey
Kage Casey in pick 140 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick142 Rnd5 DeMonte Capehart
DeMonte Capehart slipping to No. 142 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick150 Rnd5 DJ Campbell
They paid a round early for DJ Campbell in the Round 5 slot, more than the board wanted. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick182 Rnd6 Isaiah Nwokobia
Isaiah Nwokobia at Round 6, Pick 3 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick215 Rnd6 Jalen Catalon
They went early on Jalen Catalon in the 215th pick, and the value did not follow. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick238 Rnd7 Micah Morris
Micah Morris in slot 238 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
