The Bengals did not so much draft Skyler Gill-Howard as overpay for him, 23 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
