Mika DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Seahawks: B-. It is the swing that defines the weekend: Kyle Williams in the 137th pick, a good 34 spots before the room expected him.
That Starks pick is the receipt they will wave around later. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Grey Zabel
In Round 1, Pick 18 they get protection for the quarterback, reach and all. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick50
Rnd2
Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins at No. 50 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick52
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
You do not let a safety like Malaki Starks reach slot 52 and blink. They did not. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick82
Rnd3
Charles Grant
A reach on Charles Grant in the 82nd overall pick; the board had better options right there. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick92
Rnd3
Cobee Bryant
Cobee Bryant at pick No. 92 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick137
Rnd4
Kyle Williams
Kyle Williams in the Round 4 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick172
Rnd5
Jack Nelson
No edge and no loss on Jack Nelson in pick No. 172; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick175
Rnd5
Jay Higgins
Value said wait; Jay Higgins in No. 175 says they were not listening. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick223
Rnd7
Jabbar Muhammad
They paid up for Jabbar Muhammad at Round 7, Pick 7 when waiting would have done the job. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick234
Rnd7
Hayden Conner
A wild overpay on Hayden Conner in the Round 7 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
