The Patriots did not so much draft Wesley Williams as overpay for him, 65 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

They banked enough surplus on Bell to cover a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
