[oigpi DRAFTING FOR THEBears

FutureB
The Bears did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B. Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Bears spent slot 82 on Hayden Conner, a name the board had a full 58 spots lower. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
Landing Warren that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Kenneth Grant
In No. 25 they get a wrecking ball inside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick39
Rnd2
Tyler Booker
No edge and no loss on Tyler Booker in pick 39; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick50
Rnd2
Jared Ivey
Jared Ivey at pick No. 50 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick63
Rnd2
Hollin Pierce
This one needs a full-page explanation: Hollin Pierce in the Round 2 slot, miles early. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick72
Rnd3
Jack Nelson
Jack Nelson at the 72nd overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick76
Rnd3
Kaleb Johnson
The board fumbled Kaleb Johnson all the way to the 76th pick, and they scooped it up. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick81
Rnd3
Tyler Warren
They will replay Tyler Warren at No. 81 for years; that is how good the value is. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick82
Rnd3
Hayden Conner
Value said wait; Hayden Conner in the Round 3 slot says they were not listening. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick95
Rnd3
Andrew Mukuba
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Andrew Mukuba in Round 3, Pick 31, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick128
Rnd4
Jake Majors
Jake Majors in the 128th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
