Larceny in No. 249 lands the Chiefs a B-, Cephus and all.

It is a puzzling start. The Chiefs had tight end, quarterback and other spots to solve and reached instead for Maason Smith, a DT-EDGE, at the Round 3 slot. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

The Cephus pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Every board in the league had Smith lower, and that gap is the story.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
