Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Chiefs spent slot 224 on Tanner McLachlan, a name the board had a full 37 spots lower.

The Chiefs indulged a want in Solomon while a need in quarterback and edge rusher stayed open. That Williams pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
