The Lions let Washington fall into their laps, and walked away with a A-.

The board owed the Lions one, and it paid up: Tahj Washington, the No. 192 name on the board, sitting there at Round 7, Pick 27 like a gift left on the doorstep.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

In the end it comes back to Kool-Aid McKinstry, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
