The Packers won the night they stopped Smith from sliding. Grade: A-. You could see the war room lean forward. Ainias Smith at pick No. 199 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. The sum of the weekend is a deserved A-.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
The Packers indulged a want in Liufau while a need in quarterback, running back and other spots stayed open. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
It is a haul that will look even better come September.
