The Chiefs lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.

That offensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

They bet on numbers rather than a single high pick.
