SD DRAFTING FOR THEEagles

Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Eagles robbed the room for Howard. Final grade: B-. When a board-topper like Will Howard slides to Round 7, Pick 10, you do not overthink it, and the Eagles did not. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. It is not that Oliver is a bad player; it is that the Eagles had louder needs to answer first.
The Mafah pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Kevin Winston Jr.
In the 25th pick they get a ballhawk on the back end. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick57
Rnd2
Danny Stutsman
No drama and no debate, Danny Stutsman went about where he belonged in the 57th overall pick. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick86
Rnd3
Clay Webb
Clay Webb at pick 86 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick89
Rnd3
Jason Marshall Jr.
Jason Marshall Jr. in Round 3, Pick 25 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick121
Rnd4
Collin Oliver
A want over a need in No. 121: Collin Oliver adds a linebacker while edge rusher and interior defensive lineman keeps waiting.
Pick152
Rnd5
Dane Key
Dane Key in slot 152 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick153
Rnd5
Phil Mafah
A reach on Phil Mafah in pick No. 153; the board had better options right there. It fills a real need, too.
Pick185
Rnd6
Benjamin Yurosek
They paid sticker price for Benjamin Yurosek in the Round 6 slot, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick202
Rnd7
Will Howard
Somehow Will Howard was still sitting there in Round 7, Pick 10, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick213
Rnd7
Jalen Travis
Jalen Travis at No. 213 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick217
Rnd7
Jordan James
A straight-up fair deal on Jordan James at the 217th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
