Eddy DRAFTING FOR THEBills
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
B
ValueA
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Bills cashed the board's mistake on Mbow: B. You could see the war room lean forward. Marcus Mbow at the Round 6 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The linebacker spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Jones has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
They went 3 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Good work on the whole, with linebacker the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Shemar Stewart
Shemar Stewart at pick 30 is money in the bank, a edge rusher taken below his worth. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick56
Rnd2
Mike Green
Mike Green in the 56th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick62
Rnd2
Josaiah Stewart
A quiet steal in Round 2, Pick 30: Josaiah Stewart for less than the market said. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick109
Rnd4
Ashton Gillotte
Ashton Gillotte is a better player than the Round 4 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick132
Rnd4
Sai'vion Jones
Sai'vion Jones at the 132nd pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The roster fit checks out.
Pick169
Rnd5
Antwaun Powell-Ryland
Nice patience on Antwaun Powell-Ryland, who had no business lasting to slot 169. It fills a real need, too.
Pick170
Rnd5
T.J. Sanders
Somehow T.J. Sanders was still sitting there in pick No. 170, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick173
Rnd5
Aireontae Ersery
They will replay Aireontae Ersery at No. 173 for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick177
Rnd6
Trey Amos
Trey Amos in the Round 6 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick206
Rnd6
Marcus Mbow
Circle this one: Marcus Mbow at Round 6, Pick 30 is a fall that decides a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
