BearDown DRAFTING FOR THEBears
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B-
ValueB-

TradesB-
FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Bears, and a B- to prove it. The rest of the league will want that one back. Trey Zuhn III tumbling to the Bears in slot 182 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
If Griffith pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Jack Sawyer
In pick 20 they get a disruptor off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33
Rnd2
Mykel Williams
The board had cheaper options than Mykel Williams at the Round 2 slot, and it noticed. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick52
Rnd2
Patrick Payton
A tidy little value on Patrick Payton in the 52nd pick, a step better than break-even. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick84
Rnd3
Clay Webb
No drama and no debate, Clay Webb went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 20. The roster fit checks out.
Pick110
Rnd4
Wyatt Milum
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Wyatt Milum. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick116
Rnd4
Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun in pick 116 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick148
Rnd5
Thor Griffith
Thor Griffith at slot 148 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick180
Rnd6
Hunter Wohler
Hunter Wohler at pick No. 180 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick182
Rnd6
Trey Zuhn III
They barely believed it either: Trey Zuhn III still on the board at No. 182. A need, and now a little less of one.
