Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesA FutureC-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Ravens: B-.

The Ravens looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took KJ Jefferson at the 203rd overall pick regardless, 150 picks early.

Getting Ferguson where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The Ravens clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Jalon Walker
In slot 27 they get a three-down second-level presence at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick58 Rnd2 Omarr Norman-Lott
They jumped the gun on Omarr Norman-Lott, taking him earlier than his grade liked. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick59 Rnd2 Isaiah Bond
They paid up for Isaiah Bond at the Round 2 slot when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick67 Rnd3 Donovan Jackson
Fair-plus on Donovan Jackson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick80 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
They paid sticker price for Andrew Mukuba in pick 80, and that is fine. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick91 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Ozzy Trapilo at Round 3, Pick 27 is the proof. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick129 Rnd4 Terrance Ferguson
A slide stopped in slot 129, with Terrance Ferguson worth more than the price. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick136 Rnd4 Nohl Williams
They read the board right and Nohl Williams was the payoff at Round 4, Pick 34. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick176 Rnd5 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in No. 176 is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick183 Rnd6 Tyler Cooper
The board had cheaper options than Tyler Cooper at the 183rd pick, and it noticed. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick203 Rnd6 KJ Jefferson
They left a pile of value on the table to take KJ Jefferson this early at pick No. 203. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick210 Rnd6 Tyler Batty
This one needs a full-page explanation: Tyler Batty in the Round 6 slot, miles early. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick236 Rnd7 Davin Vann
Davin Vann at pick 236 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick243 Rnd7 Tyler Loop
Tyler Loop at the 243rd overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
