Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Falcons let Leonard fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-. You could see the war room lean forward. Riley Leonard at No. 218 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Noel pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Mykel Williams
In the Round 1 slot they get a problem off the edge. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick46
Rnd2
Jaylin Noel
They went early on Jaylin Noel in Round 2, Pick 14, and the value did not follow. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick118
Rnd4
Anthony Belton
Good price on Anthony Belton in the 118th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick218
Rnd7
Riley Leonard
Riley Leonard in the 218th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick242
Rnd7
Jabbar Muhammad
Jabbar Muhammad in pick No. 242 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It adds depth where they could use a little.
