You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Jets did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

They have staked the next five years on Bo Nix, which is the only story that really matters here. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

The Nix pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Jones.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
