RF4916 DRAFTING FOR THERavens
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall
B-
ValueC+
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Ravens kept it disciplined and banked a B-. Nobody else had Jaishawn Barham anywhere near the 158th pick. The Ravens did, by 29 spots, and that gap is the whole story.
That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Ashton Gillotte
In slot 30 they get a premier pass rusher. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick62
Rnd2
Tez Johnson
No drama and no debate, Tez Johnson went about where he belonged in Round 2, Pick 30. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick94
Rnd3
Keon Sabb
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Keon Sabb. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick126
Rnd4
Jonah Monheim
A premium they did not need to pay, Jonah Monheim a notch or two before his time. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick158
Rnd5
Jaishawn Barham
Jaishawn Barham in No. 158 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick190
Rnd6
Xavier Truss
They liked Xavier Truss enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 6 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick222
Rnd7
Jalon Daniels
No edge and no loss on Jalon Daniels in Round 7, Pick 30; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
