Balzanya DRAFTING FOR THEBills
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
B
ValueA-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Bills let Zvada fall and pounced. Final grade: B. The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Bills watched Dominic Zvada slide 109 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through safety. Linebacker was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Derrick Harmon
In slot 30 they get a wrecking ball inside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick56
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
Somehow Jihaad Campbell was still sitting there in pick No. 56, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick62
Rnd2
Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren at pick 62 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick107
Rnd4
Demetrius Knight Jr.
Demetrius Knight Jr. in Round 4, Pick 6 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick130
Rnd4
Savion Williams
Savion Williams at No. 130 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick169
Rnd5
Jake Majors
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the Round 5 slot is the definition of value, full stop. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick172
Rnd5
Cam Skattebo
Circle this one: Cam Skattebo at the 172nd pick is a fall that decides a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick175
Rnd5
Jay Higgins
They robbed the room for Jay Higgins here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick202
Rnd6
Ollie Gordon II
Ollie Gordon II in pick No. 202 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick204
Rnd6
Dominic Zvada
The board fumbled Dominic Zvada all the way to Round 6, Pick 29, and they scooped it up. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
