The Seahawks cashed the board's mistake on Jenkins: B-.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Seahawks were there to profit. Kris Jenkins, the No. 52 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 3, Pick 19. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

A whole weekend of picks and offensive lineman is somehow still a want. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Jer'Zhan Newton
In the Round 1 slot they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick83 Rnd3 Kris Jenkins
Steal is underselling it; Kris Jenkins at the 83rd pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick86 Rnd3 Jordan Travis
A straight-up fair deal on Jordan Travis at slot 86, value and slot in agreement. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick122 Rnd4 Junior Colson
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Junior Colson in No. 122. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick159 Rnd5 Luke Lachey
Luke Lachey at pick 159 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick200 Rnd6 Ainias Smith
They will replay Ainias Smith at Round 6, Pick 25 for years; that is how good the value is. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick243 Rnd7 Storm Duck
Storm Duck at the 243rd overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
