Draft Grade — Eagles

FutureB-
Nobody dealt better than the Eagles this weekend: B. Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Eagles spent slot 195 on Trevor Etienne, a name the board had a full 102 spots lower. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Landing Simmons that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Nic Scourton
In the 31st overall pick they get a problem off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick55
Rnd2
Colston Loveland
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Colston Loveland. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick63
Rnd2
Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson at the 63rd pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick86
Rnd3
Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori in Round 3, Pick 22 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick89
Rnd3
Kevin Winston Jr.
By-the-book stuff, Kevin Winston Jr. at pick No. 89 squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Pick93
Rnd3
Josh Simmons
Josh Simmons in slot 93 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick94
Rnd3
Danny Stutsman
A straight-up fair deal on Danny Stutsman at No. 94, value and slot in agreement. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick97
Rnd3
Riley Leonard
Riley Leonard at the 97th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick105
Rnd4
Elic Ayomanor
Elic Ayomanor at pick 105 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick123
Rnd4
Aireontae Ersery
They went early on Aireontae Ersery in pick No. 123, and the value did not follow. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick156
Rnd5
Antwane Wells Jr.
They took Antwane Wells Jr. at par in Round 5, Pick 18, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick161
Rnd5
J.C. Davis
They reached into another round for J.C. Davis, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick165
Rnd5
T.J. Sanders
T.J. Sanders at slot 165 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick195
Rnd6
Trevor Etienne
This one needs a full-page explanation: Trevor Etienne in the Round 6 slot, miles early. A need, and now a little less of one.
