Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Eagles robbed the room for Allar. Final grade: B-.

You build a draft on nights like this. Drew Allar had no business being available in No. 153, and the Eagles did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

The cost of the Fields reach is exactly the players who went right after him. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 David Bailey
In the Round 1 slot they get a premier pass rusher at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick64 Rnd2 Malachi Fields
A wild overpay on Malachi Fields in the 64th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick65 Rnd3 Sonny Styles
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Sonny Styles in slot 65. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick96 Rnd3 Monroe Freeling
A premium they did not need to pay, Monroe Freeling a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick98 Rnd3 Domani Jackson
Domani Jackson in No. 98 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick132 Rnd4 Parker Brailsford
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 132, where Parker Brailsford graded well above the range. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick135 Rnd4 CJ Baxter
No drama and no debate, CJ Baxter went about where he belonged in pick 135. It fills a real need, too.
Pick153 Rnd5 Drew Allar
They barely believed it either: Drew Allar still on the board at the 153rd overall pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick169 Rnd5 Oscar Delp
They paid sticker price for Oscar Delp in the 169th overall pick, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick183 Rnd5 Raylen Wilson
A reach on Raylen Wilson in pick 183; the board had better options right there. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick215 Rnd6 Barion Brown
Barion Brown in the Round 6 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
