Draft Grade — Eagles

Larceny in pick 98 lands the Eagles a B, Slaughter and all. Thirty-one other rooms let Jake Slaughter slide, and the Eagles were the ones holding the card at the Round 3 slot. Highway robbery. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
The skill positions did well by the weekend.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq in Round 1, Pick 23 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick54
Rnd2
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Nothing to complain about; Emmanuel McNeil-Warren went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick68
Rnd3
Omar Cooper Jr.
Omar Cooper Jr. at slot 68 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick98
Rnd3
Jake Slaughter
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jake Slaughter reach pick 98 and blink. They did not. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick122
Rnd4
Julian Neal
Value with a capital V on Julian Neal in No. 122, a genuine coup. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick137
Rnd4
Kaytron Allen
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kaytron Allen. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick151
Rnd5
Beau Stephens
Beau Stephens at the 151st pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick179
Rnd5
Zane Durant
Zane Durant in pick No. 179 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick201
Rnd6
Oscar Delp
Oscar Delp is a better player than pick No. 201 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A need, and now a little less of one.
