Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Pearce Jr. should have been long gone. The Eagles pounced, and earned a B.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Eagles did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to cornerback, which was the need that mattered most.

The Thornton Jr. reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. However the rest shakes out, Pearce Jr. at that price is a win they earned.

Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 James Pearce Jr.
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a problem off the edge, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick64 Rnd2 Donovan Jackson
A straight-up fair deal on Donovan Jackson at pick 64, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick96 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Andrew Mukuba at the 96th overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
Pick134 Rnd4 Mitchell Evans
A premium they did not need to pay, Mitchell Evans a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick161 Rnd5 Logan Brown
Logan Brown at No. 161 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick164 Rnd5 Elijah Roberts
They paid a round early for Elijah Roberts in the 164th pick, more than the board wanted. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick165 Rnd5 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in the Round 5 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick168 Rnd5 Jonah Monheim
They took Jonah Monheim at par in No. 168, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
