FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Cardinals, and a B to prove it. There is a lot to like until you notice quarterback is still a hole. The Cardinals never got to the one that mattered most.
They banked enough surplus on Newton to cover a lot of smaller sins. Every board in the league had Thomas Jr. lower, and that gap is the story. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
In the 11th overall pick they get a matchup problem out wide, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick23
Rnd1
Laiatu Latu
In pick No. 23 they get a problem off the edge, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick27
Rnd1
Jer'Zhan Newton
In the 27th pick they get a disruptive interior force at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
