The Bears won the night they stopped Washington from sliding. Grade: A-.

Somebody in pick No. 227 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bears sat still while Tahj Washington, the No. 192 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. This is how you run a draft, and the A- reflects it.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The veteran additions, Puka Nacua chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.
