McCarthy is the plan now, and the Bears grade out a A-.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on J.J. McCarthy, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. They will need McCormick to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, J.J. McCarthy and all.
