The Bears bet the future on Williams. The board says C.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on Caleb Williams, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.

They are betting McCormick proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. Getting Corley where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

A perfectly average weekend, for better and for worse.
