904 DRAFTING FOR THEJaguars
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Jaguars: B-. Every other box got a look, but running back did not. The Jaguars will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
Every board in the league had Williams lower, and that gap is the story. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
In slot 17 they get a true top target, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick48
Rnd2
Graham Barton
Graham Barton in the 48th pick is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick79
Rnd3
Josh Newton
They paid sticker price for Josh Newton in pick 79, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick96
Rnd3
Leonard Taylor III
They paid a round early for Leonard Taylor III in pick No. 96, more than the board wanted. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick115
Rnd4
Justin Eboigbe
A reach for Justin Eboigbe in No. 115; a little patience would have been rewarded. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick117
Rnd4
James Williams
A conviction pick on James Williams at Round 4, Pick 17 that the board grades a round light. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick152
Rnd5
Ty'Ron Hopper
Ty'Ron Hopper at the 152nd overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick195
Rnd6
Gabe Hall
A reach on Gabe Hall in the Round 6 slot; the board had better options right there. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick211
Rnd6
Jared Wiley
Jared Wiley in pick 211 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick234
Rnd7
Taulia Tagovailoa
Taulia Tagovailoa at the 234th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
