The real work happened on the phones. The Falcons fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They are betting Jackson proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
