After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Falcons committed. J.J. McCarthy is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

They are betting Wiley proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They banked enough surplus on Smith to cover a lot of smaller sins. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
