Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall A
ValueA NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Raiders bet the future on Mendoza. The board says A.

You could see the war room lean forward. Spencer Fano at slot 134 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Just about everything broke right, and the A follows.

The whole projection now runs through Fernando Mendoza; hit there and everything else looks smarter. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.

A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. The Styles pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with running back and tight end still on the board.

Few war rooms will sleep better than this one tonight.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
In pick 12 they get a passer to set the clock by, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick16 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In Round 1, Pick 16 they get the heartbeat of the defense, outstanding value to boot. Need was not the driver here.
Pick36 Rnd2 Mansoor Delane
Taking Mansoor Delane in the 36th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick38 Rnd2 Carnell Tate
Carnell Tate in pick 38 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick67 Rnd3 David Bailey
You do not let an edge rusher like David Bailey reach the 67th pick and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick69 Rnd3 Jordyn Tyson
Jordyn Tyson in No. 69 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick102 Rnd4 Sonny Styles
They bypassed pressing needs at running back and tight end to take Sonny Styles, a linebacker that was not the priority.
Pick117 Rnd4 Kayden McDonald
They will replay Kayden McDonald at the Round 4 slot for years; that is how good the value is. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick134 Rnd4 Spencer Fano
Steal is underselling it; Spencer Fano at pick No. 134 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
