There is reaching, and then there is Dayon Hayes at pick No. 183. The Chargers jumped the board by 114 and dared it to prove them wrong. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

That Higgins pick is the receipt they will wave around later. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.
