Draft Grade — Chargers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Chargers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

Nobody else had Trey Moore anywhere near the Round 6 slot. The Chargers did, by 78 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

That Norman-Lott pick is the receipt they will wave around later. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Omarion Hampton
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get a centerpiece for the ground game, even if it was a touch early.
Pick55 Rnd2 Tate Ratledge
A big swing on Tate Ratledge at the 55th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick86 Rnd3 Jake Majors
They reached into another round for Jake Majors, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick124 Rnd4 Omarr Norman-Lott
They barely believed it either: Omarr Norman-Lott still on the board at pick 124. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick159 Rnd5 Tory Horton
Tory Horton in slot 159 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick177 Rnd5 Mitchell Evans
Mitchell Evans at pick No. 177 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick183 Rnd6 Cobee Bryant
Cobee Bryant in pick 183 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick201 Rnd6 Ollie Gordon II
Somehow Ollie Gordon II was still sitting there in the 201st pick, and they pounced on premier running back value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick215 Rnd6 Trey Moore
Trey Moore at the Round 6 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick220 Rnd7 Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser slid further than he should have, and pick No. 220 is lovely value for the linebacker. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick253 Rnd7 Akili Arnold
They will replay Akili Arnold at No. 253 for years; that is how good the value is. A minor need, but a need all the same.
