Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Steelers were there to profit. Cade Klubnik, the No. 70 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 133.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Reaching for Alexander left real value on the table behind him. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
