Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Texans spent the Round 2 slot on Austin Barber, a name the board had a full 37 spots lower. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. That Lance pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Job largely done: running back settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
