The Panthers checked most of the boxes and earned a B.

Priorities are a choice, and the Panthers made a strange one, taking Javon Solomon at OLB-EDGE in the 101st overall pick with linebacker, edge rusher and other spots crying out for the pick instead. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Thomas Jr. value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
