FutureA
More right than wrong for the Panthers, and a B to prove it. Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Panthers never addressed cornerback, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. No fireworks, but a solid B.
They are betting Logue proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The Skyy Moore deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick65
Rnd3
Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice at No. 65 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick101
Rnd4
Zak Zinter
A reasonable price with a little left over, Zak Zinter in Round 4, Pick 1. The roster fit checks out.
Pick168
Rnd5
Brennan Jackson
No edge and no loss on Brennan Jackson in slot 168; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick180
Rnd6
JD Bertrand
JD Bertrand at pick 180 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick222
Rnd7
Zion Logue
Zion Logue at the 222nd pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
