The Cowboys cashed the board's mistake on Collins: D.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Cowboys were there to profit. Alfred Collins, the No. 56 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 7 slot.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, tight end very much included.
