The tape said wait; the Cowboys did not. Mark Fletcher Jr. went at the 156th pick, a good 54 picks before the board was ready. The math is unkind, and the D- follows.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

They banked enough surplus on Thieneman to cover a lot of smaller sins. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and tight end is still a hole.
