The Seahawks got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the C.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Seahawks did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. It lands right in the middle: a C, no more, no less.

Getting Hampton where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The Hawes reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Quantity was the play, for better or worse.

If Tyler Warren and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

The board had Tyler Warren higher than slot 34, and the tight end fell to them anyway. The roster fit checks out.

A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tyler Booker. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.

They barely believed it either: Malaki Starks still on the board at the 45th pick. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.

Omarion Hampton in the 50th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.

A straight-up fair deal on Bradyn Swinson at No. 52, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.

They liked Maxwell Hairston enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 61. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.

No drama and no debate, Deone Walker went about where he belonged in pick No. 82. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.

Jack Nelson in pick 179 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
