FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Titans a B-. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Jalyx Hunt at pick No. 106 is 45 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. That Cowing pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
JC Latham
In Round 1, Pick 11 they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick51
Rnd2
Junior Colson
Junior Colson at the 51st overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick84
Rnd3
Jalen McMillan
Jalen McMillan at No. 84 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick106
Rnd4
Jalyx Hunt
Jalyx Hunt at pick 106 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick108
Rnd4
Christian Jones
Christian Jones at slot 108 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick129
Rnd4
Jaheim Bell
Jaheim Bell at the 129th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick146
Rnd5
Jaylin Simpson
A slide stopped in slot 146, with Jaylin Simpson worth more than the price. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick157
Rnd5
Jacob Cowing
Jacob Cowing at the 157th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick182
Rnd6
Gabe Hall
They reached into another round for Gabe Hall, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick227
Rnd7
Ethan Driskell
A big swing on Ethan Driskell at pick 227, well ahead of any board in the building. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick242
Rnd7
Daijahn Anthony
A reasonable price with a little left over, Daijahn Anthony in the Round 7 slot. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
